The best esports calendar is not the one with the most logos. It is the one that tells you what is confirmed, what has already happened, and which official page to check before buying a flight.

“Biggest” here is our editorial judgment based on flagship status, competitive scope, and live-event significance. It is not a universal ranking by peak viewers.

Esports World Cup: the breadth pick

The official EWC 2026 media guide lists a $75 million prize pool, more than 2,000 players, more than 200 clubs, 25 tournaments, and 24 games across seven weeks in Paris.

That makes it the broadest event on this list. It does not mean every tournament receives an equal slice or that $75 million is one game’s prize. Check each game’s rulebook and schedule.

The International: Dota’s identity event

Valve announced that The International returns to China in 2026, in Shanghai, and returns to an August slot. The official Dota news feed published invitations, qualifiers, and ticket information in May.

Because ticket sessions and event details can change, we are not copying a third-party date range into this guide. Use Valve’s current event post before booking.

VALORANT Champions: the clean calendar pick

Riot’s official schedule lists Champions Shanghai from 24 September through 18 October. The VCT calendar is unusually easy to read because regional stages and international events sit on one official schedule.

That earns it a high place for fans who want to follow the season into a single final.

Evo France: the open-tournament culture pick

Evo’s official event list places Evo France in Nice from 9–11 October. Fighting-game events differ from closed-league spectacles: open brackets, multiple titles, and the convention-floor culture are central to the appeal.

Confirm the game lineup, registration versus spectator ticket, controller rules, and venue policies on the specific event page when published.

League of Legends Worlds: the travel epic

Riot’s official plan runs Worlds from 15 October to 14 November:

  • Play-In: Los Angeles, 15–18 October
  • Swiss: Allen, 23–26 and 28–31 October
  • Quarterfinals and semifinals: Allen, 3–8 November
  • Grand Final: Barclays Center, Brooklyn, 14 November

These are different cities and ticket products. “Worlds ticket” is not a single pass to the whole month.

What we removed

The old guide said 2026 was the biggest tournament year ever, that prize pools were rising “across the board,” that nearly every major stream was free, and that League Worlds would definitely record the year’s highest peak audience. Those statements lacked a defined dataset or complete set of official terms.

The current version keeps the excitement and drops the fake certainty.
